BARBARA CARROLL RETURNS TO BEMELMAN'S BAR

AT THE PIANO FOR FOUR MONTHS, MARCH 5th TO JUNE 29th

For as long as most of us can remember, pianist/singer Barbara Carroll, the keyboard queen of jazz&cabaret, has reigned supreme in the BEMELMAN'S BAR at the Carlyle Hotel (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600). On Tuesday, March 5th, Ms. Carroll will return to the room's classic Steinway for four months, until June 28th. Performances are Tuesdays through Saturdays, beginning at 9:30 pm.

Ms. Carroll's last recording, "All In Fun" (AFTER NINE RECORDS), a Jerome Kern compilation, received rave reviews, and has been followed by her newest CD, "One Morning In May" (AFTER NINE RECORDS), featuring her elegant, swinging renditions of songs by Hoagy Carmichael, the Gershwins, Cy Coleman, Duke Ellington and Thelonius Monk, among others - and even includes two original compositions.

In the next Woody Allen movie ("Hollywood Endings"), Barbara Carroll will be featured on the sound track and in a scene filmed at the Bemelman's Bar. On June 18th she will share billing with singer Jane Monheit at the Sylvia and Danny Kaye Playhouse as part of the JVC Jazz Festival. On June 25 Barbara Carroll will star in another Jazz Festival event, a Tribute to Pianist John Bunch, also at the Sylvia and Danny Kaye Playhouse.
