BARBARA BRUSSELL SINGS THE SONGS OF BOB MERRILL SHOW AT DANNY'S

Barbara Brussell brings her acclaimed show "Love Makes the World Go 'Round: The Songs of Bob Merrill" to DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM (342 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-265-8133 - http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/) in July, with shows on Wednesdays & Thursdays, July 10th, 11th, 17th & 18th - all shows at 7:00 pm. The director is Scott Barnes and arranger/accompanist is Christopher Marlowe. The cover charge is $15, food and/or drink minimum is $10. Dinner is also available.

Ms. Brussell's work is characterized by her capacity to go wherever the truth white-hot rage, or outrageous intimacy. She has charmed audiences at San Francisco's Plush Room, at Tom Rolla's Gardenia in Los Angeles, at Chicago's Toulouse on the Park, and many other cities around the country. In New York City, she has appeared at the famed Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel, and debuted her Bob Merrill show at the FireBird Cafe last season.

This Bob Merrill show is about his two musical lives: radio pop charts and Broadway musicals. Plus, Ms. Brussell adds a few personal, funny and thought-provoking stories. Bob Merrill wrote songs for sixteen musicals, of which nine went to Broadway (Carnival, Take Me Along, New Girl in Town). His five collaborations with composer Jule Styne include a current revival of Sugar, now back on the boards as Some Like it Hot. In the late 40s and early 50s, he had more songs on the Hit Parade than any other songwriter ("If I Knew You Were Coming, I'd Have Baked a Cake," "How Much is that Doggie in the Window," "Mambo Italiano," "Make Yourself Comfortable," and "Candy and Cake").
