THE STOREFRONT presents BROADWAY DOWNTOWN

Musical highlights from our favorite shows of the recent past.

This October, The Storefront (http://www.storefronttheatre.com) will present a brand new series, BROADWAY DOWNTOWN, at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/) designed with the intent of celebrating the music from our some of our favorite shows from the resent past. In one-hour "highlights," the company will take audiences through musical bright spots from the shows, as well as various "fun facts" about the original productions. Also, look for a special guest or two to join the company at each performance. Each Thursday, there will be two shows, at 7:00 & 9:00 pm. At all performances, there will be a $12 cover, and a two-drink minimum.

The schedule is as follows:

Thursday, October 10th - FALSETTOS
Thursday, October 17th - A CHORUS LINE
Thursday, October 24th - CHESS
Thursday, October 31th - THE SECRET GARDEN

The shows will be directed by Storefront Artistic Director Phil Geoffrey Bond and Whitney Pastorek, with Musical Direction will be provided by Jason Burke and Kris Kukul. Included in the casts are Kurt Bardele, Stephen Dean Brennan, Kristy Cates, Elizabeth Cherry, Gentry Claussen, Brandon Cutrell, David Gurland, Jennifer Jurek, Scott R. Levy, Robin Lyon, Karen Mack, Angela Mickey, Christine Robertson, Julie Reyburn, Ben Ryan, David Sabella and Michael Stewert.

BROADWAY DOWNTOWN is produced by The Storefront Theatre, which has emerged on the theatre and cabaret scene as a young company on the rise. Their celebrated "New Mondays" series, which celebrates new and established composers alike, was a critical and audience hit of the recent summer, and will start up again this October/November. Recently, the company debuted a new version of the Charles Strouse/Stephen Schwartz/Joe Stein musical, "Rags," starring Anne Runolfsson and Leslie Kritzer. Other productions include the acclaimed and MAC Award-winning "Gashole: The Wit and Wisdom of the 70's," as well as revues of the music of Stephen Schwartz, John Bucchino and Brett Kristofferson.
