Transports Audiences to "Far Away Places" in D.C.
SIGNATURE
THEATRE (3806 Four Mile Run Drive, Arlington, VA - 703-218-6500),
continues its series of world-class cabaret performances with Tom
Andersen in "Far Away Places" on Friday and Saturday, May 24th and
25th at 8:00 and 10:00 pm. Tickets are $20.
Andersen, a 5-time winner
of the MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs) Award and a
3-time Bistro Award winner, last appeared in the Washington DC area
in 2000 when he hosted the DC Area Cabaret Network's "Cabaret Celebration"
at the SPECTRUM THEATRE (1601 Kent Street, Rosslyn, VA - 703-243-8550).
He also has performed at the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center.
In New York, Andersen has performed at the city's hottest cabaret
nightspots, including The Algonquin Oak Room, The Russian Tea Room,
Tavern on the Green, The FireBird Cafe and Eighty Eights.
For his Signature engagement,
Andersen will perform music from his two acclaimed CDs, "Far Away
Places" and "The Journey." He'll sing his own original tunes, as well
as songs by Julie Gold, Jule Styne and Rodgers & Hammerstein. Tickets
to Andersen's 8:00 pm shows are already sold out, but tickets are
still available for the 10:00 pm seatings.
Each season The Cabaret
at the Signature Theatre presents a series of five of the hottest
cabaret acts from around the country. The Signature Theatre is a nonprofit
professional theater dedicated to reinventing musical classics and
premiering ground breaking new works. It is located 5 minutes from
Washington, DC.
