
THE
YORK THEATRE COMPANY PRESENTS "KRISTOPHER AT CHRISTMAS"

Launches Cabaret Series
with "Kristopher At Christmas" starring Kristopher Mcdowell with Marcy
DeGonge Manfredi, Ashley Rose Orr, and Walter Willison, and Special
Guests Kim Cea, Lorna Dallas, Jeff Harnar, Judy Kaye, Heather Mac
Rae and Phillip Officer.
The
York Theatre Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director James
organ and Managing Director Peter Poloankine, announces the launch
of its CABARET SERIES with "Kristopher at Christmas" starring Kristopher
McDowell on December 16th and 17th at 8:00 pm. Dick Gallagher will
serve as Musical Director. "Kristopher at Christmas" is directed by
Walter Willison. Show will be held at THE YORK THEATRE at Saint Peter's
Church (619 Lexington Avenue, NYC, Entrance on 54th). Tickets are
priced at $25 and may be purchased in person at the box office (212-935-5820)
or at Tele-Charge (212-239-6200).
"Kristopher at Christmas"
is a collection of both new and old songs such as "This Christmas"
and "Silver Bells'" mixed with theatre music by Cole Porter and Jerry
Herman. The 90 minute show will be performed with Marcy DeGonge Manfredi
("The Phantom of the Opera"), Ashley Rose Orr ("Annie Get Your Gun,"
"The Sound of Music") and Walter Willison ("Grand Hotel," "Two By
Two").
Kristopher will welcome
special guests Judy Kaye ("Mamma Mia!"), Lorna Dallas ("Show Boat,"
star of two BBC television series), and Kim Cea ("Smokey Joe's Cafe"
and Carolines Comedy Club) on Sunday, December 16th. Heather Mac Rae
("Falsetto's," "Hair"), Jeff Harnar, and Phillip Officer ("Side Show")
will guest on Monday December 17th.
McDowell was nominated
for a 2001 MAC Award for "Faces of Love: The Act," his cabaret debut,
which sold out its 6 week run at The West Bank Cafe in New York and
two separate 2 week sold out runs at The Jermyn Street Theatre in

Kristopher's theatre credits include "Torch Song Trilogy," "King Henry
IV", and "Hamlet" in New York, "Into the Woods" and "Barnum" in Los
Angeles, among others. He has worked throughout the United States
as an actor, singer and dancer with Symphony Orchestras, regional
theatres and in major concert halls.
Kristopher is the founder
and chair of The McDowell Foundation for Children with Down Syndrome
and is currently recording his second album for Jerome Records. For

The York Theatre Company
has been the recipient of many nominations and awards, including an
Outer Critics Circle nomination (Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical,
1998) for "The Show Goes On" with Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt; a
Drama Desk nomination for "Lost in the Stars" as Best Revival (1988),
and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Revival of its 1992 production
of "Carnival." York's "Sweeny Todd," which was nominated for six Drama
Desk Awards, was also nominated for five Tony Awards when it moved
to Circle In The Square on Broadway. York has presented eight Sondheim
musicals, including the acclaimed "Merrily We Roll Along," which won
two OBIE Awards and the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Revival
of a Musical.
