EXPRESS TO PERFORM WITH "CAROL CHANNING" AND "LIZA MINNELLI"

UPTOWN
EXPRESS, the six-member pop music subgroup of the New York City Gay
Men's Chorus, will perform three shows at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West
46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/)
on Saturday, June 16th at 8:00 pm and Sunday, June 17th at 3:00 and
7:00 pm. Each show will feature a guest appearance by a major cabaret
artist, with all proceeds going to benefit the Chorus.
MAC
and Bistro Award-winner Richard Skipper brings his acclaimed impersonation
of Carol Channing to the Saturday and Sunday evening shows, while
Drama Desk nominee and long-time star of Forbidden Broadway Christine
Pedi will perform as Liza Minnelli on Sunday afternoon.
The series, with vocal
arrangements and piano accompaniment by James Followell, is titled
"Heart and Music" and will include music by William Finn, Cole Porter,
Peter Allen, Anne Hampton Callaway, Tom Andersen, Aerosmith, and others.
In addition, the group will perform "greatest hit" numbers with Carol
and Liza.
Admission is $17 (half
price for MAC/O'Neill members) with a two-drink minimum (no credit
cards).
