Southport Records was founded in 1977 as a division of Sparrow Sound Design Recording Studio. Both businesses are musician run and owned. Over the last 24 years Southport has produced over 90 CD and album projects, numerous original film and dance scores. To this day, Southport remains a true independent label, with Chicago music presented to a world market. This is the eighth year of our annual Southport Fest, with events at POPS FOR CHAMPAGNE (2935 North Sheffield, Chicago, IL - 773-472-1000 - http://www.popschampagne.com/) and THE JAZZ RECORD MART (444 North Wabash, Chicago, IL - 312-222-1467).

*Monday, June 18th (8:30 pm): George Freeman/Frank Portolese + Tatsu Aoki "Big Guitars"

*Tuesday, June 19th (8:30 pm): The Bobby Lewis Jazz Trio (A LIVE CD RECORDING) with Thomas Kini and Jim Ryan

*Wednesday, June 20th (8:30 pm): The King Fleming Trio

*Thursday, June 21st (8:30 pm): The Corky McClerkin Trio

*Friday, June 22nd (6:30 pm): Willie Pickens (solo piano) Composer/pianist and DePaul University Co-Chair of Composition George Flynn press reception for the Southport Composers Series CD, "Derus Simples".

*Friday, June 22nd (9:00 pm): Joanie Pallatto with Bobby Schiff - piano, Dede Sampaio - drums and Jim Cox - bass

*Saturday, June 23rd (9:00 pm): The Von Freeman Quartet
