"CAROL CHANNING" (SORT OF) COMES TO THE Y IN WAYNE, NJ

On Thursday, July 12th, at 8:00 pm, respected and acclaimed celebrity singer/actor/impersonator Richard Skipper will bring his famous show, "AN EVENING WITH CAROL CHANNING" to the YM-YWHA of North Jersey (One Pike Drive, Wayne, NJ - 973-595-0100). This concert, sponsored by the Gerrard and Ella Berman Endowment Fund, is FREE to the public. Tickets, which will assure you of a seat, can be picked up beginning at 7:00 pm on the same day of the performance.

"AN EVENING WITH CAROL CHANNING" is a fully staged and choreographed, 90-minute musical montage celebrating the career and persona of this unique, theatrical legend. Blending Channing standards, such as, "Hello Dolly," with original material and other familiar songs sung by Skipper in his powerful Broadway voice, the musical evening surveys Channing's life with many stops along the way for Skipper's unique "ad-lib" interactions with the audience.

Mr. Skipper is the recipient of the 2000 MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Impersonation" and the 1998 Backstage Bistro award for best performer. He was named as one of the Top Ten Cabaret Performers of 1997 by Cabaret Hotline Online and as "one of the Top of the Century Premiere Cabaret Acts" by Cabaret Scenes Magazine. Skipper comes to the Y after recent engagements at San Francisco's Plush Room, the Ontario Hilton and Washington DC's Signature Theater. In each of those venues, he has played to sold-out houses and received outstanding reviews.
