THE TOWN HALL GIVES ITS REGARDS TO BROADWAY
"The Broadway Musicals of 1957"

Celebrates One Spectacular Year on The Great White Way
with Alix Korey, Eric Michael Gillett, Adriane Lenox and Special Guest Star Jay Rogers

After enjoying the success of its highly acclaimed look at the Broadway musicals of 1943, The Town Hall is revisiting another phenomenal year on The Great White Way: 1957.

"The Broadway Musicals of 1957", on Monday, April 16th, 8:00 pm, will celebrate songs from shows ranging from the popular "West Side Story" and "The Music Man" to such other delights as "New Girl in Town," "Jamaica," "Copper & Brass" and "Shinbone Alley." This show will feature Alix Korey ("Suburb," Drama Desk nominee for MTC's "The Wild Party"), Adriane Lenox ("Kiss Me Kate," Obie Award for "Dinah Was"), Eric Michael Gillett (MAC Award winner for Best Male Vocalist, "Kiss Me Kate") and Jay Rogers (Drama Desk nominee for "When Pigs Fly").

This exciting program not only includes famous showstopping numbers, it also features rediscovered gems and offers an entertaining verbal account of Broadway's history circa 1957. The show will be directed by Eric Michael Gillett, with musical direction by D. Jay Bradley. The "Broadway Musicals of 1957" will be written, produced and hosted by New York author/critic Scott Siegel, who, last month, also presented "The Broadway Musicals of 1943."

About the "1943" show, Robert Daniels of Variety wrote: "Plaudits are in order for Siegel for what promises to be an enriching musical travelogue."

Donald Lyons of The New York Post agreed, saying: "The evening as a whole was comprehensive and enjoyable, offering an unusual angle on the riches of our past."

David Hurst of Show Business Weekly cheered: "The evening was an entertaining sojourn back in time."

Brandon Judell of NY Theatre Wire raved: "The Broadway Musicals of 1943 attracted over 1000 Broadway-philes and was a smash ... the next evening is on April 16 and it will highlight 1957. If that doesn't ring any bells, I'm sure "West Side Story," "The Music Man" and "New Girl in Town" will. Don't miss it if you love being hit over the head with talent and song."

Tickets for this program are $35.00 and $30.00 and can be purchased at the Town Hall Box Office, 123 West 43rd Street, 212-840-2824, or through TicketMaster, 212-307-4100.
