KAREN SAUNDERS IN THREE-CITY CALIFORNIA TOUR IN AUGUST


One of New York's top cabaret and concert performers, Karen Saunders, will be performing in three venues in the State of California in August. The recipient of both MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs) and BACK STAGE Bistro Awards, Ms. Saunders will be appearing at THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444) on Friday & Saturday, August 17th & 18th at 9:00 pm. On Monday & Tuesday, August 20th & 21st, she will perform at THE PLUSH ROOM at the York Hotel (940 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-885-2800 - http://www.plushroom.com/), both shows at 8:00 pm. Finally, on Thursday, August 23rd, at 8:00 pm, Karen will can be seen at CABARET 21 (3075 North Maroa Avenue, Fresno, CA - 559-224-1024). Her musical director on this tour is Todd Schroeder.

Ms. Saunders has sung with the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, and also starred in the 25th anniversary production of "Jacques Brel..." at New York's VILLAGE GATE, where she stopped the show every night. New York audiences have enjoyed Karen's cabaret shows at Michael's Pub, Downtime, B. Smith's, Merkin Concert Hall, the Triad, The Supper Club, and The Bottom Line. æShe has shared the stage with Billy Crystal, Jay Leno, Jackie Mason, Rodney Dangerfield, Paul Reiser, Robert Klein, Rita Rudner and Joy Behar to name but a few.

Karen has also made television appearances on the "Charles Grodin Show" and "Good Day New York." æShe can be heard on the recording of Martin Charnin's "Mata Hari as Pistolette," on a new recording of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" æand on a CD of composer Herb Deutsch's art songs called "Woman in Darkness." æHer most recent project has her teamed up with Broadway/Television star Carol Woods in their show "Bosom Buddies" recently released on CD.

Karen debuted her new show at ARCI'S PLACE (450 Park Avenue South, NYC - 212-532-4370 - http://www.arcisplace.com/) in New York City to critical acclaim. The show is an eclectic collection of jazz, Broadway, standards and ditties with her own special twist.
