AUSTRALIA'S
CHELSEA PLUMLEY COMES ASHORE TO DON'T TELL MAMA IN NOVEMBER

Musical
comedy actress Chelsea Plumley will make her New York debut in her
one-woman show "Chelsea Plumley Æ Angel in Training," at DON'T TELL
MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/)
on November 2nd. Ms. Plumley is accompanied on piano by her Musical
Director David Young. The show will play Fridays at 9:00 pm, Saturdays
at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 6:00 pm beginning on November 2nd with performances
through November 11th. Tickets to the show are $15.00 with a two drink
minimum.
Taking a break from the
Australian national tour of "GREASE," where her portrayal of the tough
Rizzo has been singled out as "stunning" (The Australian), Ms. Plumley's
show will be a mix of original and specially written material by Australian
composer David Young, standards and a selection of lesser known gems
including works by Leo Sayer, Peter Allen and Kander & Ebb.
Since graduating from WAAPA
(West Australian Academy of Performing Arts) in 1994 with a degree
in Musical Theatre, she has been steadily working in the theatre throughout
her native Australia and abroad. Most recently Chelsea has been receiving
rave reviews as Rizzo in the Australian touring company of GREASE,
where she has been singled out as giving a performance that is both
"stunning" and of "admirable oomph and empathy." Other credits include
a national tour of her one-woman show "Chelsea Plumley in Concert,"
with performances at The Playhouse Theatre in Perth, The Studio Theatre,
Sydney Opera House and The Ensemble Theatre. She also toured in "Tim
Rice's Concert Spectacular," and appeared in Terrence McNally's play
"Master Class," and Kander and Ebb's "And The World Goes Round."
In 1996 Chelsea toured
Taiwan, Singapore and Jakarta in a one-woman show for Walt Disney
accompanying herself on piano. In 1996/1997 Chelsea performed with
the cabaret group Combo Fiasco with fellow Australians Tony McGill
and Shaun Murphy. She is an experienced repetiteur having worked with
the Western Australian Conservatorium, WAAPA and the corporate group
The Three Waiters. Chelsea has also booked, produced, hosted, accompanied
and performed at a cabaret/jazz venue in Sydney called Side on Cafœ.
