METROPOLIS ANNOUNCES SUMMER CABARET SERIES LINE-UP

Hollis Resnik, Kat' Taylor, Felicia Fields and Chicago's top leading ladies of the musical stage to heat up Metropolis Sunday nights this summer

Arlington Heights, IL, June 19, 2001 - Chicago's finest leading ladies of the musical stage will appear as audiences have never seen them before - as themselves - as part of the first-ever "Summer Cabaret Series" at METROPOLIS PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE (111 West Campbell Street, Arlington Heights, IL - 847-577-2121 - http://www.metropolisarts.com/), Sunday evenings, July 1st through August 12th, at 7:00 pm.

The 2001 Metropolis Summer Cabaret Series line-up includes:

July 1st - Kat' Taylor
July 8th - McKinley Carter
July 15th - Hollis Resnik
July 22nd - Felicia Fields/Table For Five
July 29th - Catherine Lord/Kat' Taylor
August 5th - Sara Davis
August 12th - Roberta Duchak/Table For Five

Musical theater lovers have seen them all over town: at Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire; Drury Lane, Oakbrook; Northlight Theatre, Court Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Goodman Theatre and the national tours of SHOWBOAT, RAGTIME, LES MISERABLES, and PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Highlights of this considerably talented group are Kat' Taylor (RAGTIME, PHANTOM); the incomparable Hollis Resnik (recently seen as MAME at Marriott); Felicia Fields (last seen at Metropolis in ONCE ON THIS ISLAND); and Roberta Duchak (SHOWBOAT, Marriott's The Taffetas.) Each one a leading lady in her own right, the Metropolis' "Summer Cabaret Series" will finally give these versatile singer/actresses a chance to showcase their own personal song stylings.

Joining in selected performances will be "Table for Five," a jazz and Broadway vocal group comprised of local musical theater performers that collectively boast such credits as the national tour of LES MISERABLES, WORLD GOES ROUND and MUSIC IN THE NIGHT, the Ovations! Concert Series at Auditorium Theatre, and performances at Chicago Symphony Chorus, Chicago's Orchestra Hall, Chicago's Goodman Theater, and Royal Viking Cruise Lines.

Single tickets to all Summer Cabaret Series performances are $18.50. A three-show Summer Cabaret series is $50; $47.50 for Metropolis members.
