McKINLEY IN "DON'T TELL WALT: AN ANIMATED EVENING OF ADULT MUSIC"
AT DON'T TELL MAMA

Singer
Bill McKinley will present his show "Don't Tell Walt: An Animated
Evening of Adult Music" at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street,
NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/).
A Press Preview is September 7th, Friday at 6:30 pm and will benefit
The Actor's Fund; with shows continuing September 8th, 15th, 29th
and October 6th & 13th, Saturdays at 8:00 pm. The show is directed
by Morgan Rice, with music direction by Christopher Marlowe. There
will be a $15.00 music charge, $20.00 for the opening night benefit,
and a 2-drink minimum, no credit cards.
McKinley, known for his
popular solo concerts and his critically acclaimed recordings ("Everything
Possible" & "The Closing of thee Year") mixes his life-long love of
Disney music, as well as his background singing in their animated
films, with his well known brand of zany humor for a mix of songs
and stories that both warm the heart and tickle the funnybone. Musical
numbers come from the scores of the classic films "Snow White," "Pinocchio,"
"Mary Poppins" and "Cinderella" to "The Little Mermaid" and "The Hunchback
of Notre Dame," and will include more obscure tunes from the Disney
theme parks and television shows. This show, originally commissioned
by THE EGG (Empire State Plaza, Albany, NY - 518-473-1845) premiered
in March in Los Angeles at THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard,
West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444).
Bill can be heard as a
featured vocalist on numerous Broadway show demos; as a singer and
voice-over artist in the animated Disney films "Mulan" and "Pocahontas";
and in hundreds of national and regional commercials including McDonald's,
Coca-Cola, Subway, Pizza Hut and Wendy's, to name a few. His recent
theater credits include ANNIE with Joanne Worley, KISS ME, KATE with
Judy Kaye, and A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC with Lainie Kazan. His two favorite
roles have been the Headwaiter in SHE LOVES ME, and the title role
in LEND ME A TENOR.
Last summer, Bill sang
a duet with Kathie Lee Gifford during her final live concert with
Regis Philbin. As a singer and activist Bill continues to make appearances
on behalf of human rights and AIDS related causes, having most recently
performed at the GALA V Festival in Tampa and SRO performances with
Kate Clinton and the Seattle Men's Chorus. He had the honor of being
chosen to sing on the steps of our nation's capitol for the National
Candlelight Vigil for Matthew Shepherd. Bill's film credits include
"Brighton Beach Memoirs" and "Radio Days" and television's "The Equalizer."
