Meg Mackay & Billy Philadelphia return to THE PLUSH ROOM at the York Hotel (940 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-885-2800 - http://www.plushroom.com/) with their new show TEN YEARS TOGETHER - celebrating 10 years of joyously making music together. San Francisco-based Meg Mackay & Billy Philadelphia's combined cabaret performances are anxiously awaited, yet both artists work continually in their respective solo careers. This engagement is a chance to see them doing together what they do best! TEN YEARS TOGETHER runs for two weeks June 6th through 17th - Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00 pm and on Sunday at 3:00 pm. Opening night is Wednesday, June 6th. There is a $15 cover charge for all shows except $20 for Friday and Saturday nights. (The Plush Room has a two-drink minimum).

Meg Mackay, the reigning diva of the Bay Area musical theatre scene is celebrated by audiences and critics alike. A sophisticated actress with a distinctive voice, Meg has received 7 Drama-Logue/Dean Goodman Choice Awards and 7 Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Awards. She is best known for her diverse repertoire that includes both the familiar and the rarely heard: American popular songs from the 30's & 40s, Broadway show tunes and original works. Her one-woman cabaret show has been well received in NY, Philadelphia, Chicago and LA and at The Plush Room in SF.

On the boards, Meg has performed in BEACH BLANKET BABYLON and in the National Touring Company of the Tony award-winning play, TORCH SONG TRILOGY. Other appearances include Momma Rose in GYPSY (TheatreWorks), Dolly Levi in HELLO, DOLLY! (Mountain Play), ENTER THE GUARDSMAN (San Jose Rep), THE SUBJECT WAS ROSES and GUYS AND DOLLS (Pacific Stage Alliance), A KAREN CARPENTER CHRISTMAS (The Marsh, SF), two Stephen Sondheim revues at Marin Theatre Company, performances with the Marin Symphony, both the SF and LA companies of STARDUST), and numerous star turns for San Francisco's 42nd Street Moon.

She has also recorded 2 critically-acclaimed albums, SO MANY PEOPLE (1994). and LEGALLY BLONDE (1998). Both CD's were produced and arranged by pianist (& husband) Billy Philadelphia.

Billy Philadelphia is a rare performer who is equally at home on stage or behind the scenes He accompanied the incomparable Dame Edna in her Tony award-winning show, THE ROYAL TOUR at Theater on the Square in SF. As musical director on local TV (AM San Francisco and SFO) he and his band played for such artists as Andy Williams, Nell Carter, Little Richard, Vanessa Williams, Ben Vereen and James Galway. He has led bands of all kinds in numerous Bay Area clubs & cabarets, as well as opening for Van Morrison, Maria Muldaur, The Lettermen and Leon Redbone. He has also played with Chuck Berry, Commander Cody, Asleep at The Wheel and Lea DeLaria.

As an actor his favorite role was songwriter/actor Hoagy Carmichael in HOAGY-, a show he produced and co-wrote. It had successful runs at the Zephyr Theatre in SF and the prestigious Milwaukee Repertory Theater. He has appeared in SONS OF DON JUAN and THE 1940s RADIO HOUR (San Jose Rep) and Marin Theatre Company where last year he took the piano score to Irving Berlin's AS THOUSANDS CHEER and arranged it for the on-stage band. This winter he directed his first stage production, the 1938 opera BRUNDIBAR at the Julia Morgan Theater in Berkeley as part of the Berkeley Jewish Music Festival. Billy is remembered as The Man About Town on the Frank & Mike radio show on KNBR-AM. He also teaches a very popular class in Cabaret Performance at UC Extension.
