Grammy-Award Winning Composer to Perform at MAC Membership Meeting

Meeting to be held Friday, September 21st, 6:00 pm at National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South, NYC

Julie Gold, who won a Grammy Award for her song "From a Distance," which was recorded by Bette Midler and Nanci Griffith, will perform her song this Friday, Septmeber 21st, at the annual membership meeting of MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs - http://www.macnyc.com/). Ms. Gold serves on the Board of Directors of the MAC Outreach Fund, a new charitable organization whose goal is to promote the art of live performance, specifically cabaret, comedy and jazz, through educational programs in schools and in community organizations.

Board President Michael Estwanik says: "I asked Julie to share her song with us at this delicate time because her folk hymn's message of hope in a troubled world touches a universal chord. In light of the tragic events of the past week, I though Julie's performance would bring a much-needed moment of healing and hope for us in the cabaret community."

The public is welcome to attend this meeting and to join MAC. For further information, please call the MAC Hotline at 212-465-2662 or visit their website at http://www.MACnyc.com/
