HOWARD FISHMAN QUARTET AT JOE'S PUB SUNDAY, JUNE 17 AT 8:30 pm

HENRY BOGDAN OF THE MOONLIGHTERS JOINS THE HOWARD FISHMAN QUARTET AT JOE'S PUB SUNDAY, JUNE 17 AT 8:30 PM

The Howard Fishman Quartet welcomes steel guitarist Henry Bogdan as a special guest performer on Sunday, June 17th at JOE'S PUB (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - Tele-Charge: 212-239-6200 - Box Office: 212-539-8778 - http://www.joespub.com/). The evening's performance comes as part of the Quartet's ongoing exclusive engagement at the Pub. Ticket prices are $12 and can be purchased at the Public Theater box office or via Tele-Charge.

Henry Bogdan played bass for eight years with the band Helmet, before deciding to focus on his developing passion for Hawaiian steel guitar. In 1998, he cofounded The Moonlighters, a group that merges old-time Hawaiian music with 1930s pop as seen from a decidedly modern point of view.

Bogdan is the latest of several special guests who will sit in with the Quartet's complete permanent roster: Howard Fishman on guitar and vocals; Russell "Percy" Farhang on violin; Erik Jekabson on trumpet; and Jonathan Flaugher on bass. Previous guests have included oboist Toyin Spellman and pianist Andrew Adair.

These JoeÍs Pub performances serve as a musical laboratory for the Quartet, who will are using the shows to develop and explore material for their as-yet-untitled third album. The evenings also include music from We Are Destroyed, a work-in-progress musical meditation on the Donner Party being developed by the Quartet in conjunction with The Public Theater.

Tickets to events at JOE'S PUB (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - Tele-Charge: 212-239-6200 - Box Office: 212-539-8778 - http://www.joespub.com/), can be purchased at The Public Theater box office Tuesday-Saturday from 1:00 pm to 7:30 pm; Sunday and Monday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm or via Tele-Charge.
