
WENDY
LANE BAILEY MAKING BLUES ALLEY DEBUT WITH "TAKING THE WHEEL"

Singer Wendy Lane Bailey
will appear with her show" Taking the Wheel," on June 27th, Wednesday
at 8:00 and 10:00 pm at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington,
DC - 202-337-4141).
Ms. Bailey is the Southern
Baptist, Jewish, Mormon founder and Executive Director of the Washington,
DC Area Cabaret Network, an organization dedicated to fostering the
growth of cabaret in the DC Metropolitan area. She was a 1999 Cabaret
Fellow at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's Cabaret Symposium. Wendy
has just returned from her critically acclaimed New York cabaret debut
at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC); prior to this she
co-produced "A Cabaret Celebration" at the SPECTRUM THEATRE (1601
Kent Street, Rosslyn, VA), appeared at The National Theater in DC,
"A Holiday Cabaret 2000" at MIMI'S (2120 P Street NW, Washington,
DC), Signature Theater's Paul's Pub Series, Metrostage, the DCJCC
and the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage.
Wendy's theater credits
include the starring role of Reno Sweeney in "Anything Goes," and
touring the DC area with the educational Library Theater; she was
also the lead in "Philadelphia Seventy-six Degrees." Her film credits
include TV's Homicide, "Shadow Conspiracy" with Charles Sheen, and
starring in the medical industrial video "Interventional Tonight"
as Angie O'Plasty.
"Taking the Wheel" is in
collaboration with music director Tex Arnold, director Sally Mayes,
writer/consultant Julie Halston. At the piano will be George Fulginiti-Shakar.
