TOM ANDERSEN, 5-TIME MAC AWARD WINNER, PRESENTS "MY SONGS" AT DON'T TELL MAMA

A SHOWCASE OF HIS ORIGINAL TUNES BEGINS NOVEMBER 4th

TOM ANDERSEN, the multi-award-winning singer-songwriter, will perform "My Songs," his first-ever showcase of original tunes, Sundays, November 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th at the popular midtown club DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/). The opening show on November 4th will be at 3 pm. All the other performances will be at 5:30 pm. There will be a $10 cover charge and a two-drink minimum.

Andersen, who has played Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and Manhattan's major clubs, is best known as a top singer of standards and show tunes; he has received two MAC Awards, cabaret's highest honor, for Outstanding Male Vocalist. But "My Songs" will celebrate his versatility as a songwriter of pop, country, swing and blues tunes. He has penned songs solo and collaborated with Tim Di Pasqua and Ian Herman on others for his two CDs, "Far Away Places" and "The Journey."

Andersen's tunes have been sung across America and from England to Australia by first-rate cabaret and theater artists such as David Campbell, Claiborne Cary, Scott Coulter, Baby Jane Dexter, Meg Mackay and Sean McDermott. His best-known composition is "Yard Sale," the 1998 MAC Award winner for "Song of the Year." A 1999 Bistro Award winner for Outstanding Songwriter, he is a member of ASCAP, and has been signed by Warner Chappell.

"It's always been fun singing standards and other people's songs, but performing a showcase of my own tunes is something I've wanted to do for a long time. It's going to be real casual," Andersen says. "I'll be singing originals from my CDs, like 'Every Night I Sleep With an Angel,' and some I haven't recorded, like 'Time and Tears' plus a few new tunes. I'm very excited about this!"
