KAREN
AKERS, one of the most successful international cabaret singers, will
headline an exclusive four-week engagement in the Oak Room at The
Algonquin Hotel, 59 West 44 Street, April 24 May 19, 2001. Shows
are at 9 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; and at 9 and 11:30

In addition to the new

These songs are the basis of her new CD, "Feels Like Home," which
DRG will release in conjunction with this engagement.
Karen Akers has had a long
and varied career. From Broadway ("Nine" and "Grand Hotel") to Carnegie
Hall and The Hollywood Bowl, her multi-faceted accomplishments include
films (Woody Allen's "The Purple Rose of Cairo" and Mike Nichols's
"Heartburn") recordings (6 solo CD's), and two of her own PBS specials.
