2009 MEMBERS' CHOICE PERFORMER AWARD
MEMBERS' CHOICE FAVORITE PERFORMERS OF 2008 ANNOUNCED
The results are in for the MEMBERS' CHOICE FAVORITE PERFORMERS OF 2008. As I kept saying issue after issue, there were many very close races here - the Male Debut race was decided in the final week of voting, and there was a tie for second place on Male Vocalist, and just 3 votes separating 1st & 3rd in the Female Debut and 3 votes between 1st & 3rd in the Female Vocalist categories. Only in the DUO/GROUP category was there a decisive result.
I actually recounted every vote when the tie or near-tie results appeared, just to be sure. And then went over the votes a third time in the MALE VOCALIST and FEMALE DEBUT section. This was a far more difficult project than I expected. With 174 members of a total of 385 taking part in the poll, just a handful of additional participants could have totally changed the results in most of the categories.
