CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE #050602 - Monday, June 6, 2005
Since 1990 Your First, Best, and Only Complete Source of Cabaret News

CELEBRATING OUR 15th YEAR COVERING CABARET ALL OVER THE WORLD!
JOIN US ON JULY 6TH AT THE ENCORE, NYC, TO CELEBRATE!

If it's anything to do with cabaret, you'll probably read it here first!

This is a MONDAY NEWS Issue of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE and also includes information on all the banner ads running on the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE website plus listings for around the world, including shows at over 100 venues and covering over 300 performances (with a number offering discounts to members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE). The MID-WEEK issue, normally sent on Thursdays, will include more news, breaking stories and notes, cabaret tips, review summaries, plus listings of shows offering discounts to members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE.

ATTENTION AOL USERS: Over 400 newsletters sent out to AOL subscribers have been bouncing back each issue - with no resolution coming from AOL in spite of promises. All copies of past issues are archived on the website.

HAVING TROUBLE USING PAYPAL?
Yes, it can be confusing. If you have a problem, send me an e-mail with the amount you wish to send and I will send you a PayPal "invoice" which everyone says makes the procedure easy. For new PayPal users, there is a full set of instructions included with the "invoice."

I got up really early this morning in order to get this issue out before the weather heats up too much to work. My air conditioner is still stored in the basement, 3 flights down, and there is no way I will be able to get it up and installed until later today or even tomorrow. Yesterday it reached the mid-80s (f) and today is more of the same.

Meantime, plans on the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE 15th Anniversary Celebration continue. The posters and fliers should be ready for distribution tomorrow, and we are accepting small ads for the Souvenir Program that will be distributed at the party and the show - drop me a line if you want to place an ad and I'll send the specs. Deadline is June 18th and the ads will cover the costs of printing the posters, fliers and programs - our budget for promotion is about $250 so the ads are very inexpensive - 12 ads - 6 to a page - at $20 (you can buy 2 or 4 or even 6 spaces if you want a larger ad).

I really felt good this week, and was out and about to see 9 cabaret events since last Monday - although I did take Friday & Saturday nights off. Friday was quite rainy - there is no way to efficiently use an umbrella while walking on crutches! I have 10 shows on my schedule for this week - with a doctor's visit set for Friday afternoon. I am keeping my fingers crossed, hoping that I can get rid of this leg brace and these crutches finally (it will be 3 months exactly since my accident on March 10th). I'll even go with a cane if necessary.

A DOUBLE INVITE TO ALL TO PARTY WITH US ON JULY 6th
I want to give all subscribers a special invitation to join or re-join as a member of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE for 2005-2006 and a special invitation to the 15th Anniversary Party "15 YEARS OF HUGS & STUFF" that we are having at THE ENCORE (266 West 47th Street, NYC - 212-221-3960 - http://www.theencorenyc.com/ ) on Wednesday, July 6th. By joining before July 6th you will be able to attend the party in the ENCORE piano bar at 6:30 pm for FREE. Non-members can join at the door for $20 and receive a SILVER membership, but you can avoid that hassle by joining today. We have lined up some great entertainment for the party, including a performance by puppeteer Tim Reilly and a few "new faces" in cabaret. There will be snacks, a cash bar with happy hour prices, plus a chance to network and schmooze, with music provided by the talented newcomer David Austin at the piano.

You can join quickly with a credit card using PayPal - just go to the website at http://svhamstra.com/Membership.shtml. There are several membership levels, and all offer discounts on banner ads and discounts to select cabaret shows and events. If you prefer not to use a credit card and PayPal, you can send a check made out simply to Stu Hamstra and mail it to CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE, 676A Ninth Avenue #120, NY, NY 10036.

Nearly 20 tickets out of 70 available have already been reserved, and I don't want you to be left out. Please don't delay - over 80 folks have joined for 2005-2006 already and have received information about the party and show. Once all 70 seats are sold, that's it. No second show is planned. You will need to make your reservations for the 7:30 pm show via the website - don't call the club. Go to http://svhamstra.com/HugsStuffOrder.shtml to order tickets. The page is a little confusing right now, but I think it is usable.

She appears with award-winning arranger Christopher Marlowe at the piano, and they continue their collaboration on standards such as "I Got Lost in His Arms," "It's Been A Long, Long Time," and "Sun In the Morning," as well as audience favorites such as "Something In Red," "Inner Bitch," and Lyle Lovett's "God Will." MORE NEWS FROM THE WORLD OF CABARET
