CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE #040906 - Monday, September 20, 2004
Since 1990 Your First, Best, and Only Complete Source of Cabaret News
If it's anything to do with cabaret, you'll probably read it here
first!
This is a MONDAY Issue of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE which includes cabaret
listings for around the world, and also includes information on all
the banner ads running on the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE website. The MID-WEEK
issue, normally sent on Thursdays, will include more news, breaking
stories and notes, plus listings of cabaret-themed benefits and of shows
offering discounts to members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE.
PLEASE NOTE: Sometime around midnight, Friday, September
17th, the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE e-mail server index became corrupted
and about 40 e-mail messages were lost. The problem was fixed around
10:00 am on Saturday, the 18th. If you sent a message between those
times, please re-send. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Things have settled down a little here in Queens since last week. My
roommaye, who went into the hospital on Saturday, the 11th, with chest
pains, is back home - and in fact went off to work this morning. No
heart problems were detected. They did find a cause of the pain, and
he is now on one of those no-fun diets and was urged to quit smoking.
But my hospital visits forced me to cut back on my cabaret attendance
so I sort of had to reschedule a number of reservations and missed a
few really great shows that hopefully will be repeated in the near future.
If you have been planning to send in your membership donation, this
would be a great time to do so. You see, it has been a very slow time
during the summer for banner ads, and we are really in a bind for
funds right now. Your $20 SILVER or $75 GOLD (or even more) would
really be a boost to both our checkbook and our peace of mind. You
can even join by credit card using PayPal. For information on becoming
a contributing member of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE, go to http://svhamstra.com/Membership.shtml
or else just send me a note at membership@svhamstra.com
with the single word "membership" in the subject line, and I'll send
all the details. If you make your donation by check, please make the
check payable simply to Stu Hamstra and send to 676A Ninth Avenue
#120, New York, NY 10036. Thanks again for your support.
I have a lot of news for you again today, including news about shows
at over 110 venues and covering over 350 performances (currently over
35 shows are offering discounts to members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE
worth savings of over $150!). Included ate 38 venues in NYC; 14 in MidAtlantic;
15 in New England; 6 in the South & SouthWest; 9 in the MidWest; 22
in the West & NorthWest; plus 9 non-USA venues. I promise that you will
read things in this issue you will not find published anywhere else.

I'M ALWAYS LOOKING FOR MORE NEWS
I get plenty of show listings sent me - far more than I can possibly
use - it is really difficult trying to choose which ones to run, which
ones to set aside. Sometimes the item itself makes this choice - incomplete
information or just a scan of a flier, neither of which is useful to
me. I would love to have more items from outside NYC, especially NEWS
items - new venues opening, benefits, CD Releases, celebrations, new
pianos, etc. Add a website link if available.
A WORD FROM SOME OF OUR SPONSORS
REMEMBER: Each weekly issue of the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE newsletter
includes listings for all the banner advertisers on the website - and
these items will be repeated as long as the banner is running. In many
cases there are more detailed articles on these items in the BREAKING
NEWS section of the website. Shows currently running banners are now
included in the regular city-by-city listings, while other cabaret events
are listed here.
