The show will be MCd by Jim Speake. Musical director is Tracy Stark. Performers announced to date are Cynthia Crane, Joshua Warr, Booth Daniels, Kathleen France, Sue Matsuki, Edd Clark, Shirley Ritenour, Denise Whittier, Greg Purnhagen, Grace Cosgrove, John Treacy Egan, Gretchen Reinhagen - and one or two more added soon. (performers are subject to change without notice.) We will also be announcing our BEST CDs OF 2009 contest winners. Tickets for the AWARDS PRESENTATION & CDs FOR THE HOLIDAYS show cost $10 for 2009-2010 members, $5 for CABARET FOR SENIORS members and $15 for non-members. Tickets MUST be purchased online, in advance via the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE website. NO RESERVATIONS WILL BE TAKEN BY THE VENUE. Limited to 70 seats. To order tickets go to http://www.svhamstra.com/thankyou1tkt2.shtml

The 2009 CDs FOR THE HOLIDAYS PARTY is sponsored in part by SCHUIL COFFEE - OUR SHOPPE (http://www.schuilcoffee.com/our-shoppe.html ), Lucille Carr-Kaffashan and Jim Van Slyke (http://www.jimvanslyke.com/ )

SPECIAL NOTE TO SUBSCRIBERS

There will be no issue of the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE NEWSLETTER on Thursday, November 26th - a special "Thanksgiving" TRIPLE issue will be sent out instead on Friday the 27th, combining the regular issue with the MEMBERS ONLY and CABARET FOR SENIORS issues. But it won't have the "listings section" per se (it will include a listing of all shows giving discounts to CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE members and all the items where folks are running ads on the website). Wishing all a Happy Holiday! Note that many cabaret rooms and piano bars may be closed on this day to permit their employees to attend traditional family gatherings. Be sure to phone ahead if planning to visit any venue.

HERE & THERE - PART I

Since we won't have a regular issue on Thursday, and the combined issue on Friday won't have the usual listings (see paragraph above) we have jammed into this issue all the listings we had on hand through December 12th (with a few exceptions). And to do so, we have trimmed our own personal comments "to the bone" to stay under 10,000 words. In addition, the DECEMBER schedules from the clubs have not arrived as yet (except from Australia's BUTTERFLY CLUB that came last week and LAURIE BEECHMAN which came as I was writing this issue) so I know next Monday's issue will have a lot of "new news" as well.

I need your help. This year we lined up a terrific cast for our CDs FOR THE HOLIDAYS show, have 3 top-notch judges to pick the best CDs of 2009, and dropped our ticket price to the lowest level in our 20 year history ($15 cover - $10 for members, $5 for senior members). But so far, only about 20 folks have placed reservations (and 5 more, who can't be there, bought tickets for me to give away). I am truly disappointed - especially since so many folks who supported us and purchased tickets to shows in the past haven't made reservations yet. Our basic costs are covered by our sponsored, so we will have the show in any case - no matter how many seats we sell. But "the kids in the show" deserve a full house. For details, see the item at the top of this issue.

To order tickets go to http://www.svhamstra.com/thankyou1tkt2.shtml

The 2009 CDs FOR THE HOLIDAYS PARTY is sponsored in part by SCHUIL COFFEE - OUR SHOPPE (http://www.schuilcoffee.com/our-shoppe.html ), Lucille Carr Kaffashan and Jim Van Slyke (http://www.jimvanslyke.com/ )

More HERE & THERE items appear at the bottom of this issue - including any last minute news items that come in just before we "go to press" and more comments and commentary on the art and artists of cabaret. And even more news can be found on the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE BLOG http://cabarethotlineonline.blogspot.com/

CYNTHIA CRANE RELEASES LIVE CABARET CD "THE TIME HAS COME"

Cynthia Crane's latest CD "THE TIME HAS COME", recorded live at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM is now available, perfect timing for Holiday giving. Produced by Lookout Jazz Records, the CD also features pianist Paul Greenwood and bassist Boots Maleson, and a delightful collection of songs and patter that in some ways provide a further step to solving Cynthia's dilema presented in her last CD, "If I Knew Now (What I Knew Then)" Very topical in both her song choices and the patter she uses to set up the numbers, Ms. Crane relates the wisdom she has gained through her life's experiences. Available right now at http://www.lookoutjazz.com/ the CD will soon also be available at CDBaby & AMAZON.COM.

ADELE ZANE RELEASES THIRD CD - "A STRANGER IN TOWN"

Adele Zane's newest CD, "A Stranger in Town" is probably the perfect companion to your broken heart or to the heart you've just broken. For singer/songwriter Zane's third CD she has enlisted the aid of virtuoso guitarist Andrew Green as both collaborator and arranger. More than willing to blur the boundaries between jazz, rock, pop and country, the duo have succeeded in creating a highly polished and well thought out merger of the genres. Todd Isler on hadgini, Jorge Roeder on bass and Jordan Perlson on drums round out a stellar selection of backing musicians. Jim Clouse makes a special guest appearance on drums and Hamcrest Riverton hands in a memorable cameo on Zane's original, Girl at the Bar. The CD is available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/adele3 .
