NYC: 2011 NIGHTLIFE AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED!
The winners of the 9th Annual Nightlife Awards have been announced. Chosen by more than two dozen distinguished critics and experts that cover the worlds of cabaret, comedy and jazz, the winners are invited to come to THE TOWN HALL (123 West 43rd Street, NYC - 212-997-1929 - ) on Monday, January 31st at 7:00 pm and, rather than make acceptance speeches, they perform to show why they were chosen. Once again the evening will be hosted by comic/writer Bruce Vilanch. This once a year celebration brings the best of the best of New York's luminous nightlife to Town Hall.
The Nightlife Awards judges have chosen the following 2011 winners:
OUTSTANDING COMEDIAN IN A MAJOR ENGAGEMENT: COLIN QUINN
OUTSTANDING CABARET VOCALIST IN A MAJOR ENGAGEMENT: CHRISTINE EBERSOLE
OUTSTANDING CABARET DUO OR GROUP IN A MAJOR ENGAGEMENT: JOHN PIZZARELLI & JESSICA MOLASKEY
OUTSTANDING CABARET VOCALIST: LIZ LARK BROWN
OUTSTANDING CABARET DUO OR GROUP: THE RESCIGNOS
OUTSTANDING CABARET COMEDY OR CHARACTERIZATION: MARK MCCOMBS
OUTSTANDING JAZZ VOCALIST: KAREN OBERLIN
OUTSTANDING JAZZ SOLOIST: HARRY ALLEN
OUTSTANDING JAZZ COMBO OR BIG BAND: MICROSCOPIC SEPTET
OUTSTANDING COMEDIAN: HANNIBAL BURRESS
OUTSTANDING COMEDY DUO OR GROUP: HARVARD SAILING TEAM
